17. Imaginative fictionBy Stella Cardus
The publication of 'BRIGHTON: The Graphic Novel' on 2 October 2013 saw QueenSpark Books return to fiction but with a twist.
Inspired by Alice in Sunderland by Bryan Talbot, our graphic novel used the history of Brighton & Hove as its starting point. As with all QueenSpark books, the majority of the content was produced by volunteers but this time they included artists as well as writers.
The artists were mentored by professional graphic artist Paul Collicutt (pictured here on the right) whilst the writers were led by Tim Pilcher, co-founder of the Comic Book Alliance. Together they wove stories, scripts and graphics into a vibrant and colourful graphic novel about Brighton & Hove.
And the nursery is still with us!
